One Too Many

The experts say the conditions helped. Air temperature, barometric pressure, dew point, wind conditions. Ideal. You’d think those would be important to the pros, but not a weekend warrior like me. For some reason, Lana videoed me. Maybe in her bones she felt something special was brewing. Fifty-two. A world record. I lost count myself because the last dozen was a blur. But analysis of the video proved it. Divers found the stone, thanks to the recording. God. Bless. Lana. The stone is in the museum. I’m hitting the talk shows. Oh, how I wish Lana were here. She tried on her own to retrieve the stone for posterity. The divers recovered her, too.
