Ars Poetica
it is more human to me / than my meds in the dark / winter morning before frost / can sparkle and hands / can work, it is more real / than a porch stained with / watercolors in summertime / or a strand of red string / caught in long hair, it is / more augmented than a girl / growing into his manhood, / it is more lonely than a fall- / ing egg from a nest in the rafters, it / is more transparent than the tape / that holds my memory together, / it is more warm than fireside / eyes shining orange and soft, / it is more real than losing, / it is more human than loss, it is more human than loss /
